New HX 8×8 trucks are being delivered to Ukraine by Rheinmetall at the request of the German government. There will be a total of 26 of these high-mobility hookloading vehicles delivered to Ukraine. Between ten and twenty million euros are spent on the order. According to the Rheinmetall webpage, on December 12th, 2022, the cars had already started to arrive.
The HX series of military vehicles, produced by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, is one of the most popular lines available. In use today are more than 15,000 automobiles globally. HX trucks, a series of military off-the-shelf vehicles, are systematically built for optimum durability, mobility, use, and adaptability, thus putting them in a class by themselves.
Rheinmetall is already actively engaged in a number of initiatives to support Ukraine. Zeppelin Mobile Systeme GmbH, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall, will deliver a fully functional field hospital to Ukraine in 2023 with support from the German government.

Rheinmetall also participates in a number of “Ringtausch” operations. The German government created the “Ringtausch” method to work with NATO allies and neighboring European states to support the Ukrainian military effort. Here, NATO nations trade surplus Western-made systems for heavy equipment from the Soviet era that is being sent to Ukraine.
The Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Greece are now receiving various fighting vehicles from Rheinmetall’s corporate reserves, such as Leopard 2 A4 tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Slovenia also receives HX 8×8 trucks of the same kind that the Ukraine does at the moment. In response, Ukraine is receiving tanks and IFVs from these NATO nations.
