Jerman Sepakat Kirim Patriot dan IFV Marder ke Ukraina

Menteri Pertahanan Amerika Serikat (AS) Lloyd J. Austin III berbicara dengan Menteri Pertahanan Federal Jerman Christine Lambrecht melalui telepon pada 6 Januari 2023, untuk membahas cara meningkatkan bantuan keamanan ke Ukraina sebelum pertemuan the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, di Ramstein, Jerman, akhir bulan ini.

Menteri Pertahanan Amerika Serikat, Austin, memuji keputusan Jerman untuk memberikan kemampuan militer tambahan untuk Ukraina, termasuk satu baterai pertahanan udara Patriot dan kendaraan tempur infanteri Marder.

Kedua pemimpin setuju untuk terus berkoordinasi erat dengan Sekutu dan mitra lainnya dalam upaya membantu Ukraina, ungkap Juru Bicara Pentagon Brigjen Pat Ryder, di kutip laman Kementerian Pertahanan AS, 6/1/2023.

Bantuan Militer Tambahan dari Jerman

Pemerintah Federal Jerman mendukung militer Ukraina dalam koordinasi erat dengan mitra dan sekutunya. Daftar di bawah ini memberikan ikhtisar dukungan militer Jerman yang lethal dan non-lethal untuk Ukraina, ungkap laman Pemerintah Federal Jerman, 4/1/2023.

Bantuan termasuk pengiriman dari Angkatan Bersenjata Federal Jeman, serta pasokan dari industri Jerman yang dibiayai dari dana Pemerintah Federal Jerman untuk apa yang disebut pembangunan kapasitas keamanan.

Di bawah proses anggaran 2022, dana untuk prakarsa pembangunan kapasitas keamanan ditingkatkan menjadi total 2 miliar euro untuk tahun 2022. Dana tambahan akan digunakan terutama untuk mendukung Ukraina.

Pada saat yang sama, mereka akan digunakan untuk membiayai kontribusi wajib Jerman yang meningkat untuk Fasilitas Perdamaian Eropa (EPF), yang pada gilirannya digunakan untuk mengganti biaya yang dikeluarkan negara-negara anggota UE untuk memberikan dukungan kepada Ukraina.
